Indian Rice Pilaf

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 14.5 ounce can chicken broth
  • 1 cup long grain rice
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 pinches ground gloves
  • 1 small onion, coarsely chopped

Method

  1. Bring water and chicken broth to a boil.
  2. Add remaining ingredients, cover, and cook until rice is tender (20-25 minutes).

Cilantro Lime Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dry white rice
  • 1 3/4 cups water
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 3/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions

  • Rinse rice until water runs clear. Soak for 30 minutes in cold water, then rinse again.
  • Cook in rice cooker with water.
  • While rice is cooking, process cilantro, garlic, lime juice, and oil in a food processor until finely blended.
  • When rice is cooked, fluff and pour cilantro mixture over the top. Mix thoroughly.
  • Serve immediately!

Rice Cooker Mac and Cheese

A nice, quick Mac and Cheese. This comes from the Washington Post.

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces cavatappi
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1.5 cups two or three cheese blend (cheddar, mozzarella, Monterey Jack)

Directions

  1. Combine pasta and broth in rice cooker. Start cooker. Open the lid and stir every five minutes to prevent scorching until the pasta is done.
  2. Add milk and cheese. Close lid and heat until well combined, again opening the lid to stir every five minutes.

Cheesy Breadstick

This recipe is easy prep, easy prepare, easy bake, easy eating!!!

Ingredients:

1, 10 oz can Pizza dough
2 TBSP butter, melted
0.5 oz. Parmesan, grated
2 oz. Provolone cheese, grated
1 TBSP dried Basil
1/4 tsp garlic salt

Directions: Preheat the oven to 450 F

  • Prepare a large cookie sheet by spraying with non-stick spray
  • In a bowl, mix together the Parmesan, Provolone, Basil, and Garlic
  • Spread the Pizza dough onto prepared pan
  • Brush with melted Butter.
  • Top evenly with the Cheese mixture
  • Using a pizza roller (or knife) score the dough into 10-12 pieces but don’t separate.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, until dough is cooked through and cheese is lightly browned.
